Emergence - Now Open

An exciting exhibition celebrating the work of Dorset Visual Arts’ Emerging Artists, showcasing new artwork developed over the last year. Featuring artwork by Kiki Birtles, Sophie Glen, Fiona Kenny, Will Monaghan, Shelley Perry, Pauline Rose, Dawn Thomson, Jasmine Wheeler and Abigail Whelan.

These nine members of Dorset Visual Arts’ Emerging Artist Group have taken part in a series of training sessions led by mentor Becca Russell, who brings her expertise in curation, producing and artist development. Attending group sessions and one-to-one mentoring, they have explored their practice and developed new work, as well as revisited existing themes. 

Dorset Visual Arts is delighted to offer training to our members and programmes like these are vital to support artists who are at the beginning of their careers. ‘Emergence’ provides an important opportunity to celebrate the participating artists and to share their work with a wider audience.
