Sarah Smith

I am a textile artist, based in stunning West Dorset. I create pieces of art that celebrate rugged and beautiful landscapes using wool and natural fibres, incorporating founds things too. I take my inspiration from the textures and colours of the natural environment. My art work and workshops explore the connections between people and place, and how this balance is delicate, and how our lives, and our ancestors are woven into the land around us. Using wool and natural fibres in felt making, weaving, spinning and stitchwork my art is tactile, and after being enjoyed can return to the earth.
