I work in both Dorset and London , drawing, sculpting with paper and printmaking using a geared Bewick and Wilson press.
The subject matter may vary but the underlying theme in my work is the evidence of human presence. There is a history and common thread running through these deceptively simple, everyday vessels and articles of clothing. Forms, colour and composition play an important part and the viewer is asked to contemplate the relationships between artist and subject matter and between the subjects themselves.
My printmaking practice is as sustainable as possible using a wide variety of repurposed and recycled materials. As an art educator I steer drawing and printmaking workshops and mentor artists; I am a committee member of the Printmakers Council, Southbank Printmakers, Zea Mays Print Studio and The International Association of Hand Papermakers and Paper Artists (IAPMA).
I’ve been awarded artist residencies at Cill Rialaig, Ireland, JOYA:Air, Spain and Zea Mays Print Studio, USA
