Artforms painting
I work with acrylic, sometimes incorporating collage, and occasionally with oils and cold wax. My current interest is in an exploration of colour and texture, often constructed via a grid or stripe composition. This underpinning structure allows for an in depth exploration of colour, texture and weight. Many of my paintings begin with an initial layer of colour which is allowed to emerge in the final painting, giving a sense of history and depth. I hold a PhD in History of Art and have published widely and spoken at many international conferences, retiring as Emeritus Professor of Art History at The Arts University Bournemouth. I am beginning to exhibit my work, commencing with applications to two recent open calls which were successful. Email: prose5@btinternet.com
