Tina Peacock is a Dorset based artist working in the tradition of geometric abstraction, Constructivism and abstract expressionism. She creates large scale and smaller sized mixed media paintings on canvas, paper or wood.
Peacock’s work explores the dynamic relationship between order, resistance and adaptation within structured systems. She is especially interested in Chaos Theory and Disorder within Order.
Memory, grief and human relationships are a connecting thread throughout her work evolving from Peacock’s lived experience. Growing up in the transient environment of a hotel in Cornwall and as the youngest of five, life was always chaotic and family relationships were fractured. There has been much grief and loss to deal with, both as a child and adult. Conceptually, the work reflects the complex realities of contemporary life where social, political, technological and environmental structures are continually tested, challenged and reshaped.
Preferred media is vinyl emulsion paint (Flashe), graphite and ink, creating large scale and smaller sized mixed media paintings on canvas, paper or wood.
Tina works from her studio near Wimborne, Dorset and exhibits her work nationally. Selected artist for the Bath Contemporary Artists Fair, a selected Member Artist with ArtCan.Org and an alumni of the Contemporary Art Academy, London.
