Taster Shows by E.D.G.A - East Dorset Group Artists

Once again we approach one of the most popular events on the county art calendar, Dorset Art Weeks Open Studios, 24th May – 8th June. For those of you unfamiliar with this nationally acclaimed biennial event, one of the forerunners of its kind, this is the year to venture out into the countryside and meet the makers in their homes and studios. A chance to buy a piece of affordable original artwork or learn more about the art practices and approaches of these talented craftspeople.

Wimborne Minster again plays host to the East Dorset Group of Artists taster show which displays the work of participating artists living and working in the East Dorset area. A second taster show will be held at the Hub venue in Verwood. This new and exciting centre for the arts is definitely worth a visit and will be displaying work by E.D.G.A members from 17th May to 10th June.

The Taster shows are a great opportunity to get an idea of who you might like to visit during the Art Weeks fortnight as even the most dedicated art lover won’t have enough time or energy to see everyone - a good idea to plan ahead.

As an area we are extremely rich in artistic talent: potters, painters, sculptors, furniture makers, silversmiths, printmakers and textile artists to name a few. Why not take this opportunity to visit these craftspeople in their home studios, kitchens, sheds and garages.
