Shireen Ann Brickell

Shireen is much inspired and influenced by country life. The characters and wildlife are much in evidence in her work. Drawing has always featured very strongly in everything she does, never travelling without a diary which is part sketch book, hoping to capture a moment that is interesting particularly the people. These are translated onto linen or cotton, painted and stitched.
She has recently drawn on characters encountered in Rwanda to do a series of pieces that hopefully depict a little of Rwandan life.
