I am presently working on a series of oil paintings that result from walking a stretch of the Dorset coastline close to my home.
These paintings are an expression of the sensual and physical elements that time and weather enforce on this coastal landscape.
The relentless presence of the elements, the weathered surfaces and the underlying geological structure are increasingly encouraging me to layer and scratch back the paint in an attempt to connect with the journey of time through this coast.
They are not intended to represent specific locations, but rather to embody the shapes, textures, moods and character of the coastline that impress upon my memory and emotions.
