From the stone-age hill forts of West Dorset and wild beauty of Exmoor to the sumptuous interiors and red pisé kasbahs of Southern Morocco, there are places so special to me that they have become part of who I am. In all weathers and seasons I immerse myself in drawings that further deepen my relationship with such places, then try to capture something of their enigmatic, time-worn quality through building up layers of paint, with occasional hints of what lies beneath the surface, beckoning us on to explore further.
