Bryan paints atmospheric, often nostalgic, watercolours of farm animals, Horse and Steam Fairs, children, boats and landscapes.
He most admires Winslow Homer, Singer Sargent, Hopper, Andrew Wyeth, Jack Yeats and Harry Becker.
Bryan holds regular exhibitions. He has recently had paintings hung by the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolour at the Mall Galleries, London, and at the Royal Watercolour Society, Bankside, next to Tate Modern. He has had two exhibitions at Salisbury Playhouse. His paintings are always on show in the purpose-built gallery at his home.
His wife, Kate is a quilter and there are quilts on display with some for sale. Kate also gives classes in their contemporary home in central Shaftesbury, overlooking the surrounding coutryside.
